OPENING RECEPTION:

"This Myanmar Life" will open on June 2nd, 2016 with a reception and presentation from the photographer and writer Dustin Main.  The five-year project began in 2011 as the country of Myanmar was just opening up to the world after suffering decades under a series of harsh military dictatorships.  Since that year when the country began to open its doors, the culture, economics, and politics have all been affected by the change.

Dustin Main has returned to the country more than a dozen times since then to witness the country and its citizens react to this new openness with cautious optimism.  He'll speak to how this change is affecting the stories of their lives.
